What is the title of your CD? How did you come up with the name?
MORETTA
Album is self-titled. Moretta-Moretta.

Is this your first CD and if not, how is this one different from the others?
MORETTA
Yep! This is out debut album!

Did you write all the songs before going into the studio or did you write them as you were recording?
MORETTA
On the album, it is just Kc (drums) and myself (Joe Paisley). I wrote all the songs in about 3 months before heading into the studio end of last year. I recorded guitar, bass, and vocals. As the songs began to take shape, we did write plenty of parts while recording.

Walk us thru the process of writing your music?
MORETTA
I typically come up with a riff, get it stuck in my head, then write additional parts in my head throughout the day. Then, I will write lyrics to match the instrumentation.

Where did you record and why?
MORETTA
We recorded with Bill Nieman at Rainbow Trout Studios in Spokane, WA because we knew he would give us a different sound. We didn't want to have the typical hardcore sounding record that seems to be making the rounds these days.

HHow did you pay for your recording?
MORETTA
With money... and sexual favors.
 
ATP
Did you have a producer or did you self-produce? If so, what kind of input did the producer have. If your self-produced, why?
MORETTA
Nope.

Are you pleased with the final product?
MORETTA
Extremely! Towards the end of the recording process, I actually sent a few tracks out to a couple buds of mine, just to see what happens. Long story short, they found their way to Alan Sanderson. Alan is a Grammy Award winner, 11 time RIAA Certified Gold and Platinum Recording recipient. He wanted to get involved and ended up mastering the album. (www.alansanderson.com)
